Why GWO approved training ?

GWO standard

Since 2009 various wind turbines owners and manufacturers are associated in the Global Wind Organisation (GWO). Its aim is to support an injury free work environment in the wind industry by setting common standards for safety training across Europe. Members of GWO are e.g. Vestas, Siemens Wind Power, DONG Energy, RePower and Vattenfall.

In 2012 the GWO Basic Safety Training Standard was released. The standard is based on risk assessment and statistics on incidents/accidents within the wind industry. It describes, per module, the requirements for basic safety training in the wind industry. Furthermore it describes the acceptable risk based level of training technicians, engineers and all other personnel involved in building and maintenance of wind turbines/ wind farms both onshore and offshore, should complete before executing their activities.

Reval Marine and Offshore Basic Safety Training courses for the wind industry comply to the standard that was set by the GWO.
